VPS Lakeshore organized a program in observance of World Obesity Day, focusing on the critical issue of pediatric obesity.

Emphasizing early intervention and nutritional strategies, the event highlighted the approaches to tackle this pressing health issue. World Obesity Day Rapid Talks Event hosted by The Obesity Collective

Join us on March 4th to mark World Obesity Day 2024! We are hosting our fifth World Obesity Day rapid talks event with a range of expert speakers across lived experience, weight stigma, obesity prevention, and obesity management and treatment. This year we will be focussing on the need for action on the National Obesity Strategy (now launched two years ago), presenting our national top advocacy actions for prevention, treatment and stigma reduction and sharing our collaboratively developed budget submission. The global theme this year is “Let’s Talk About Obesity and…” It is an opportunity to continue to challenge damaging misconceptions that halt progress and emphasise the need for collaboration and collective action. Like with other health conditions, a range of interventions and perspectives are needed to improve health and reduce risks of further disease for people living with obesity.
