Mobilise your allies

This World Obesity Day, we need the power of partnerships and collective action to drive systemic change. Mobilising allies—across public health, advocacy groups, and communities—can amplify our message and create lasting impact.

Calls to Action:

  • Raise awareness for World Obesity Day in your network
  • Forge new partnerships with new allies such as those in public health, and aligned campaigners.
  • Engage those with lived experience to gather their stories of their challenges
  • Advocate to decision makers in local and national government, regulators, public health, employers and media

Utilise our core calls to action, as available on the Advocacy Toolkit

SOCIAL MEDIA EXAMPLES

For too long, responses to the obesity crisis have been focussed on individuals. It’s time we turn our attention to the systems that are failing us. Together, people working in government and health—working with advocates and the public—can transform our systems to help better manage and prevent obesity. Obesity affects young and old, rich and poor—all over the world. It’s time to spotlight the failing systems—not the individuals—that are driving rising obesity rates. Are you ready to shift the spotlight? Find out how here  worldobesityday.org
